Also known as the Big Island of Hawaii， it is a world famous tourist destination. It has unique and beautiful environment， and the Hawaiian traditional hospitality， friendly， sincere， attracted numerous tourists.
Hawaii is a dream paradise for most people. It is made up of eight volcanic islands. They are the Big Island of Hawaii， Maui， Oahu， Kauai， Nepalese Hao Island， Molokai， Rana Island， Kahuo Ao Lawei Island. Winding coast， green mountains， sweet pineapple tree， swaying palm trees， people relaxed and got happy. In the evening， the warm sea， gorgeous sunsets， colorful umbrellas， mellow wine even more intoxicated.
Hawaiian is the melting pot where multi-cultural blend together， after 200 years of change， which the Eastern and Western culture are intertwined， the civilization of northern and southern hemispheres linked together， they were known as the crossroads of world culture， so that visitors marvel.

Oahu
Oahu may be the most colorful island of Hawaiian Islands.It has the characteristics of a variety of cultures， magnificent and diverse landscape and abundant outdoor activities. There are the main islands of Hawaii Honolulu International Airport， and the charming Honolulu and Waikiki Beach.
Kauai
Kauai is Hawaii’s most quiet and most idyllic place，with the name of“Garden Island”. It is the most place where is the South Pacific paradise of the imagination. This is why Kauai is often used as a scene in many Hollywood films now.
Maui
Maui is known for its beautiful valley. “Solar House” is the island’s most famous tourist destination. “Solar House” more than ten thousand feet above sea level， visitors can take the car rental along the highway to the top， where you will feel like to have left the earth to the moon on the same station.
Lanai
Lanai is among the Hawaiian Islands open to tourists， the smallest one. It is like a privately owned park， the park has two five-star resorts high.
Molokai
Since 1950， Molokai began a more comprehensive， but rather limited degree of development. There are no building more than coconut tree height， now only 7，000 people live here， the total number of all hotel room was 700.
Big Island of Hawaii
In the Hawaiian Islands， the Big Island of Hawaii is one of the youngest island， and the largest island， with a total area of all the other Hawaiian Islands combined total area of the island twice.

毛伊岛
毛伊岛以其山谷的秀丽著称。“太阳之屋”是岛上最著名的旅游圣地。它海拔一万英尺以上，游客可以租车沿公路开到顶上，在那里你会感到自己好像已经离开了地球，站到了月球上一样。
拉奈岛
拉奈岛是夏威夷群岛中开放给观光客的各岛屿中，面积最小的一座。它好像一个私人拥有的公园，园内有两座五星级的高级度假中心。
摩洛凯岛
摩洛凯岛从1950年以后才开始有较全面但程度颇为有限的发展。岛上没有一栋建筑物超过一颗椰子树的高度，目前也只有7，000人定居于此，所有各旅馆的房间总数才700间。
夏威夷大岛
在夏威夷群岛里，夏威夷大岛是最年轻的一个岛，也是最大的一个岛，总面积是所有其他夏威夷群岛岛屿加起来的总面积的两倍。
大岛是一个很有意思的地方。在那里，游客可以在同一天上山滑雪，下海冲浪，然后到火山公园看火山。

“Hawaii” comes from the Polynesian language. In the 4th century AD， a group of Polynesian canoed through the waves to the place and settled down. They named the islands “Hawaii” with the meaning of “the original home”. The European first discovering the islands was Spain’s Juan Gaetano， and the British navigator Captain James Cook really made Hawaii known around the world.
The origin of the sandwich is said to be from Mr. Sandwich， the British Earl who loved to play bridges. He came up with this play while enjoying snacks， so it was named after him.
Earl Sandwich was also the sponsor of the famous adventurer Captain Cook. Therefore， when Captain Cook discovered the Hawaiian Islands in 1778， he named them Sandwiches.
In 1795， Kamehameha I conquested the other tribes of Hawaii and established the Kingdom of Hawaii. In 1882， Kalakaua ordered to construct the Lolani Palace. Kalakaua’s sister， Hawaii’s last king had been living in this palace and the palace was now turned into Hawaii museum.
In 1893， with the help of the American， a group of politicians and businessmen began to make the coup. The Queen of the Kingdom of Hawaii was forced to abdicate under the threat of American army.
After the war with Spain in 1898， the U.S.A. annexed Puerto Rico， Hawaii， Guam and the Philippines. After World War II， Philippine was independent， while Guam and Puerto Rico continued to be the territory of the United States. In 1959， Hawaii became the 50th state of the USA. Hawaii’s alias is “Aloha State”. “Aloha” is the meaning of love. When Hawaiian greet or part， they often say something like this.
In 1993， after the Congress’ approval， President Clinton signed the bill to apologize for the overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawaii 100 years ago and recognize that the native Hawaiians never gave up the sovereignty of Hawaii.
“夏威夷”一词源于波利尼西亚语。公元4世纪左右，一批波利尼西亚人乘独木舟破浪而至，在此定居，为这片岛屿起名“夏威夷”，意为“原始之家”。最早发现该群岛的欧洲人是西班牙的胡安·盖塔诺，而真正使夏威夷为世人所知的是英国航海家库克船长。
三明治的由来，据说是源自英国热爱打桥牌的三明治伯爵。他想出了这样可以边打桥牌边享用的点心，于是便以他的名字命名。
这个三明治伯爵同时也是著名的冒险家库克船长的赞助者。因此，当库克船长于1778年发现夏威夷群岛时，便以伯爵的名字命名。
1795年，卡美哈美哈一世征服了夏威夷其他部落，建立夏威夷王国。1882年，卡拉卡瓦国王下令建造约拉尼宫。卡拉卡瓦国王的妹妹、夏威夷最后一任国王也曾经居住在这座王宫里，现在王宫被辟为夏威夷博物馆。
1893年，一群政客和商人在美国人的帮助下发动政变。在美国军队的威胁下，夏威夷王国的女王被迫退位。
